Doctoral Fellow in Micro-CT Reconstruction with Machine Learning
Conduct a 4-year PhD researching implicit neural representations for advanced micro-CT reconstruction at Ghent University.
Best for:Best for graduate engineers and mathematicians with a strong foundation in machine learning, signal processing, and GPU-based computing.
Overview
Ghent University is offering a 4-year full-time doctoral position within the Department of Telecommunications and Information Processing. The successful candidate will join the Image Processing and Interpretation research group in collaboration with the Center for X-ray Tomography and the Centrum Wiskunde en Informatica. The project focuses on reconstructing and analyzing raw micro-CT data directly into compressed neural forms using implicit neural representations, avoiding traditional computational bottlenecks. The candidate is expected to design and validate novel algorithms, collaborate across disciplines, publish research, and present findings at international conferences.
What you'll do
- Conduct fundamental and applied research on micro-CT reconstruction using implicit neural representations.
- Design, implement, and validate novel machine learning and signal processing algorithms.
- Benchmark developed reconstruction pipelines against state-of-the-art methods.
- Collaborate closely with researchers across image processing, imaging physics, and computational mathematics.
- Present research findings at international academic conferences and publish in peer-reviewed venues.
