Overview

The Centre des Matériaux at Ecole des Mines de Paris offers a funded doctoral research position focusing on understanding the variability of Charpy resilience test results in large forged steel components. Sponsored through a CIFRE partnership with Framatome, the project combines finite element simulations, probabilistic modeling, and artificial intelligence. The successful candidate will develop methods to generate 3D mesosegregation fields from 2D observations and accelerate elasto-plastic finite element calculations. Applicants are expected to hold a Master's degree or engineering diploma with a strong background in numerical mechanics or physics.
