Doctoral Researcher in Digital-Twin Mapping for 5G/6G Electromagnetic Fields
Build and deploy FR3 monitoring nodes to map and analyze 5G/6G electromagnetic fields using digital-twin techniques.
Best for:Best for electrical engineers, computer scientists, or physicists with a strong background in wireless communications, signal processing, or computational electromagnetics.
Overview
This PhD position focuses on developing digital-twin frameworks to model and monitor electromagnetic fields in 5G and 6G networks. The successful candidate will design and construct FR3 monitoring nodes, create detailed spectrum and EM field maps, and implement anomaly detection algorithms. The work involves finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulations for absorption modeling and sensor fusion techniques to integrate multi-source data. The project is hosted at Ghent University’s Department of Information Technology and offers an opportunity to contribute to next-generation wireless communication technologies.
