Overview

KU Leuven invites applications for a four-year doctoral research position within the NUMA research group, supervised by Dirk Nuyens. The project centers on numerical algorithms for approximating high-dimensional functions, with a particular focus on structured point sets derived from quasi-Monte Carlo methods and analyzing worst-case errors in weighted Sobolev spaces. The successful candidate will conduct rigorous mathematical analyses to understand how and when these numerical techniques function effectively. The initial appointment is for one year, with continuation contingent upon a formal performance evaluation after nine months.
