MSc Particle Accelerator Science
Master the physics and technology of particle accelerators through a unique cooperative Master's programme across three leading German universities.
Best for:Best for natural science or engineering graduates with a strong foundation in physics and mathematics seeking to specialize in particle accelerator science.
Overview
The MSc Particle Accelerator Science is an intensive, English-language cooperative master's programme jointly run by the Technical University of Darmstadt, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, and Goethe University Frankfurt as part of the Rhein-Main Universities strategic alliance. Spanning four semesters, the curriculum combines foundational lectures, seminars, and laboratory practicals in physics, engineering, and mathematics during the first year, followed by hands-on research and a master's thesis. Students benefit from the diverse research expertise of all three partner institutions, covering areas from nuclear and particle physics to medical technology and materials research. Graduates are thoroughly prepared for advanced research or professional careers in high-technology sectors and scientific research facilities.
