Overview

The SINReM programme is a joint Master’s degree offered by TU Bergakademie Freiberg (Germany), Ghent University (Belgium), and Uppsala University (Sweden). It educates students to develop innovative, sustainable solutions for the entire raw materials value chain—from exploration and extraction to recycling and circular economy applications. The curriculum integrates technical expertise with entrepreneurship and innovation management, preparing graduates to tackle global sustainability challenges. Students spend their first year studying at all three partner universities, gaining a broad interdisciplinary perspective, while the second year allows specialization in fields like georesource exploration, sustainable processes, or resource recovery. An integrated internship with industry partners bridges academic learning and real-world application, ensuring graduates are equipped for careers in research, industry, or policy-making.
