PhD position: Circuit Quantum Electrodynamics in Atomically Thin Nanoelectronic Devices
Explore electron-electron interactions in 2D materials using high-impedance superconducting resonators.
Best for:Best for physics or nanoscience graduates with an interest in experimental quantum electronics and nanofabrication.
Overview
The University of Basel invites applications for a four-year PhD position focused on circuit quantum electrodynamics (cQED) within the Quantum Coherence Lab. The research involves utilizing high-impedance superconducting resonators in the GHz regime to investigate fundamental electronic phases, such as superconductivity and Mott insulators, in twisted 2D materials. The successful candidate will engage in advanced nanofabrication, low-frequency transport experiments, and pump-probe measurements. This role is part of the Swiss Nanoscience Institute (SNI) PhD school, offering a collaborative environment for exploring quantum technology and material science.
