Overview

The Master of Science in Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) offers a highly flexible programme allowing students to tailor their studies across 22 specialisation fields, from structural mechanics and sustainable construction to transportation technologies and materials science. Students choose four specialisations, with one designated as their major, and benefit from mentorship to align their coursework with career goals, including international mobility through double-degree partnerships with institutions in France, Sweden, Argentina, and the Czech Republic. The programme spans four semesters, culminating in a 30-credit Master’s thesis, and is taught in both German and English, depending on the chosen modules. It is designed for graduates with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related disciplines, requiring proficiency in either language at C1 level.
