Special Topic Researcher in Neutron-Based Evaluation Technology for Energy Storage
Join Japan Atomic Energy Agency to develop neutron-based evaluation techniques for lithium-ion batteries and water electrolysis.
Best for:Best for postdoctoral researchers with a PhD in materials science, chemistry, or physics, specializing in neutron scattering, battery materials, or electrochemistry, seeking hands-on experience with advanced neutron beam facilities.
Overview
This fixed-term postdoc position at the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) focuses on advancing neutron-based evaluation technologies for lithium-ion batteries and water electrolysis. The successful candidate will conduct research using high-intensity pulsed neutron beams at the J-PARC Material and Life Science Facility to study transport phenomena in electrode materials during manufacturing processes. The role involves developing evaluation techniques and collaborating with Toyota Central R&D Labs on energy storage applications. The position is ideal for researchers with a PhD in materials science, chemistry, or related fields and a passion for neutron scattering techniques.
What you'll do
- Conduct research using high-intensity pulsed neutron beams to study transport phenomena in lithium-ion battery and water electrolysis electrode materials.
