PhD Research Engineer in Micro-Vibration Simulation and Testing for Aerospace Applications
Develop advanced frequency-domain methods for high-precision micro-vibration modeling and experimental validation in aerospace systems.
Best for:Best for engineers, physicists, or mathematicians with a master’s degree in a technical field, proficiency in MATLAB/Python, and experience in dynamic simulation or structural testing.
Overview
This PhD position at KU Leuven’s Mechatronic System Dynamics division (LMSD) focuses on advancing micro-vibration simulation and testing techniques for aerospace applications. The project aims to enhance the accuracy of vibrational predictions for low-level excitations, bridging the gap between noise and critical system behavior. The successful candidate will combine numerical modeling (linear/nonlinear frequency-domain methods) with experimental validation on demonstration structures. The research group, with over 100 members, blends academic rigor with industrial relevance, offering a dynamic environment for interdisciplinary collaboration. The position is ideal for engineers, physicists, or mathematicians with a strong foundation in dynamic systems and computational tools.
