Overview

The Applied & Environmental Geoscience (AEG) Master’s programme at the University of Tübingen offers a research-oriented curriculum addressing critical environmental issues such as groundwater pollution, resource sustainability, and climate impacts. Taught entirely in English, the programme integrates hydrogeology, environmental modelling, chemistry, microbiology, and physics to equip students with interdisciplinary expertise. Students specialise in one of three areas—hydrogeology, environmental chemistry/microbiology, or environmental physics—while developing quantitative and fieldwork skills through compulsory modules, electives, and a Master’s thesis. The programme attracts international students and fosters collaboration with global research networks, supported by state-of-the-art facilities at the Geo- and Environmental Research Centre (GUZ).
