MSCA Doctoral Network PhD position: Semi-synthesis of site-specifically modified β-catenin protein variants
Join a cutting-edge project on β-catenin protein modifications.
Best for:Best for candidates with a strong background in protein chemistry and bioconjugation techniques.
Overview
This PhD position focuses on the semi-synthesis of site-specifically modified β-catenin protein variants at Georg August University Göttingen. The project aims to generate unique labeled β-catenin variants for binding assays and to explore the dynamics of β-catenin's intrinsically disordered regions. Candidates will engage in synthetic peptide modifications and bioconjugation strategies, contributing to significant advancements in structural biology. Applicants are expected to have a strong background in protein expression and purification.
What you'll do
- Generate unique labeled β-catenin variants for binding assays.
- Explore the dynamics of β-catenin's N- and C-terminal intrinsically disordered regions.
- Understand the effects of post-translational modifications on β-catenin binding interactions.
- Synthesize modified peptides and perform bioconjugation.
- Collaborate with team members for screening and proteomics assays.
