Overview

The 'Words in Our Thoughts' (WIOT) project at the University of the Basque Country explores the hypothesis that language and concepts are fundamentally linked rather than separate entities. The research examines how words shape human thought, focusing on polysemy in typical language development and conceptual organization in atypical populations, such as individuals with autism. By integrating philosophy, linguistics, developmental psychology, and cognitive neuroscience, the project aims to redefine the role of language in human cognition. The successful candidate will contribute to this interdisciplinary effort to understand how linguistic and conceptual abilities evolve.
