Overview
The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) is seeking a visionary Vice President, Academics to provide executive leadership for its academic division. The successful candidate will oversee the implementation of the institution's Teaching and Learning Strategy and contribute to the university's broader strategic goals. This role involves managing academic policies, fostering internal and external partnerships, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, market-appropriate technical and applied programs. The appointee will report directly to the President and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of applied and experiential learning in Qatar. Applicants should be seasoned leaders with extensive experience in higher education administration and a commitment to academic excellence.
What you'll do
- Provide executive-level leadership for the University-wide academic strategy and technical/vocational mission.
- Advise the President on academic plans, policies, and procedures to support the institutional strategic vision.
- Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of high-quality experiential learning programs.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with higher education institutions, industry stakeholders, and government bodies.
- Oversee the academic annual budget and monitor division performance against established KPIs.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of policies related to institutional delivery and academic standards.
- Represent the university on local, regional, and international boards and committees.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in Engineering, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Business, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
Language: Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
Instruction: English and Arabic
- Minimum 15 years of total professional experience in higher education.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership position at a growing university or college.
- Proven ability to lead complex academic operations and drive institutional excellence.
- Experience in reviewing faculty promotion portfolios.
- Demonstrated success in building and sustaining productive leadership teams.
- Must hold a PhD from an accredited institution.
