Postdoctoral Researcher in Nanobioscience
Develop advanced scanning probe microscopy systems for high-resolution nanoscale life science research.
Best for:Best for experimental researchers with a background in scanning probe microscopy, atomic force microscopy, or nanobioscience.
Overview
Kanazawa University's Nano Life Science Institute (NanoLSI) is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher to drive core technological developments in nanometrology. The successful candidate will focus on building hybrid systems that combine atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning ion conductance microscopy (SICM) to observe and sample internal cell structures at the nanoscale. Working within a multidisciplinary WPI research center, the appointee will engage in advanced instrument development, nanoscale life science investigations, and active scientific outreach. The position offers a dynamic international environment with opportunities for collaborative research in molecular and cellular nanodynamics.
What you'll do
- Develop and refine hybrid measurement systems integrating atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning ion conductance microscopy (SICM).
- Perform local structural observations inside living cells and execute targeted nanomechanical or spatial sampling.
- Conduct collaborative research at the interface of nanometrology, life sciences, supramolecular chemistry, and computational science.
- Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications, international conference presentations, and academic reporting.
- Participate in laboratory outreach activities, science communication events, and general research group duties.
Requirements
