Overview

This position at Newcastle University’s Centre for In Vivo Imaging (CIVI) seeks a skilled Magnetic Resonance (MR) physicist to design and execute high-impact clinical research. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams—including scientists, clinicians, and radiographers—to develop advanced MRI/spectroscopy techniques for studying organ function and metabolism. Leveraging two dedicated 3.0T Philips scanners with pulse programming capabilities, the successful candidate will contribute to translational research bridging basic science and clinical applications. The Centre specializes in multinuclear imaging (e.g., 19F, 23Na, 31P) and works closely with NHS Trusts to improve patient outcomes. This fixed-term role offers career development opportunities toward independent research or staff scientist positions.
