Overview

This PhD position at Université Gustave Eiffel investigates the integration of bacterial cellulose to improve the mechanical performance, crack resistance, and water stability of raw earth construction materials. The project addresses the climate emergency by advancing sustainable architecture through bio-stabilised earth plasters with low embodied energy and strong hygrothermal regulation. The successful candidate will conduct experimental research to design a new generation of eco-friendly building materials. Applicants are expected to demonstrate strong scientific rigor, autonomy, and enthusiasm for laboratory experimentation.
