The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) is seeking qualified educators to join the College of Education Sciences. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering English proficiency, English for Academic Purposes (EAP), and communication skills courses to a diverse student body. Beyond teaching, appointees will contribute to curriculum development, innovative pedagogical research, and university administration. This role is ideal for experienced educators committed to enhancing English language usage across the campus community.
What you'll do
- Deliver high-quality instruction in English proficiency, EAP, and communication skills to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Develop and refine course materials, assessments, and teaching resources.
- Implement innovative teaching methodologies to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Engage in professional and scholarly activities related to language education and pedagogy.
- Participate in departmental and university-wide administrative tasks and committees.
- Promote and support the use of English across the university campus.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in English Language Education or related field for Professor tracks; MSc/MPhil in English Language Education or related field for Lecturer tracks.
Language: English; high proficiency required for instruction and academic communication.
Instruction: English
- Proven experience in teaching English at the higher education level.
- Strong proficiency in English language curriculum and course design.
- Demonstrated ability to teach diverse student populations, particularly Chinese students.
- Commitment to utilizing innovative teaching methodologies.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant teaching or research experience for Assistant/Associate Professor and Lecturer I roles.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant teaching or research experience for Senior Lecturer roles.
- Must hold at least a Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Relevant teaching qualification is preferred.
