Overview

European XFEL invites applications for a part-time PhD student position focusing on ultrafast dynamics studies within the MID department. The successful candidate will investigate X-ray speckle visibility spectroscopy (XSVS) and push the boundaries of X-ray Photon Correlation Spectroscopy into the femtosecond-to-nanosecond range. The role involves developing experimental techniques, generating and analyzing twin-pulse setups with tuneable time delays, and collaborating with international scientific teams. Candidates are expected to contribute actively to experimental beamtime campaigns and publish their findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
