Overview

The Master of Arts in Egyptology at the University of Basel offers an interdisciplinary curriculum covering the history, culture, language, religion, and art of Ancient Egypt up to the Islamisation in 641 AD. Students examine cultural features primarily through rigorous text study, historical and philological analysis, and archaeological fieldwork. The program integrates diverse methodologies, including epigraphic projects and hands-on excavations enabled by external funding.
