Overview

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) offers a fully funded PhD position focusing on entanglement routing in quantum optical fiber networks within the Smart Optical Networks Lab and Electro-Optical Communication group. The project aims to design novel routing protocols, construct an experimental testbed for multi-node quantum networks, and evaluate the coexistence of quantum signals with classical telecom traffic in collaboration with industrial partner KPN. The successful candidate will combine theoretical modeling, simulation, and experimental validation to overcome key challenges like decoherence and fragility in quantum information. In addition to conducting cutting-edge research, the candidate will contribute to departmental education and mentor bachelor's and master's students.
