Senior Research Fellow in Climate Migration and Race Studies
Lead a mixed-methods research project exploring public attitudes toward climate-linked migration in the UK.
Best for:Best for established researchers with a PhD in social sciences, public policy, or related fields, specializing in qualitative methods, race studies, and climate migration research.
Overview
This fixed-term Senior Research Fellow position at the University of Nottingham focuses on the Nuffield Foundation-funded project *From Rivers of Blood to Rising Seas: Attitudes to Climate Migration*. The role involves designing and executing qualitative research—including focus groups and discourse analysis—while collaborating with community partners, policymakers, and an Advisory Group. The successful candidate will contribute to a critical historical analysis of migration narratives, an expert Delphi study, and disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications and conferences. The project centers the perspectives of ethnic minority communities with ties to climate-vulnerable Commonwealth nations, examining how race, colonial legacies, and migration histories shape contemporary climate-migration debates. Ideal for established researchers with expertise in qualitative methods, race studies, and public opinion research.
