Temporary PhD Position in Digital Precision Dosing of Monoclonal Antibodies
Join an interdisciplinary project developing AI and pharmacokinetic models for individualised cancer therapy dosing.
Best for:Best for candidates with a master's degree in pharmacy, molecular biology, or medical technology who possess strong Norwegian language skills and an interest in clinical pharmacology and AI applications.
Overview
The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Bergen is offering a full-time, three-year PhD position focused on developing and validating methods for individualised dosing of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies in cancer treatment. Part of the 'DikomAb' project funded by Haukeland University Hospital and the University of Bergen, the work combines drug concentration measurements with clinical patient data and pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PKPD) modelling. The successful candidate will interpret Norwegian-language patient records, use clinical text annotation and large language models, structure health data, and evaluate dosing strategies in close collaboration with clinicians and researchers.
What you'll do
- Review and interpret Norwegian-language patient records in DIPS at Helse Bergen to identify relevant clinical details and medical terminology.
- Apply Clinical Regex for patient record annotation and verify text annotations and outputs from large language models against source texts.
- Structure, quality-assure, and process clinical datasets and drug concentration measurements.
- Develop, evaluate, and simulate pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic (PKPD) models to investigate dosing strategies.
- Collaborate with clinical teams and researchers to interpret exposure-response relationships and communicate findings through scientific publications and conferences.
