Overview

The Peter Grünberg Institute (PGI-3) at Forschungszentrum Jülich is seeking a motivated PhD candidate to explore exotic states of matter, specifically one-dimensional topological superconductivity. The successful applicant will work on hybrid material systems, utilizing advanced scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) to study superconductivity engineered via proximity effects. The role involves sample fabrication in a state-of-the-art cleanroom, experimental data collection at low temperatures, and analysis of quantum phenomena. This position offers a collaborative, international research environment with opportunities for professional development and networking within the German and European scientific community.
