Material Science (MSc)
A research-oriented international Master's degree focusing on functional materials at the atomistic and nanoscale.
Best for:Best for students with a Bachelor's degree in natural sciences seeking advanced research training in functional materials.
Overview
The Master of Science in Material Science at the University of Koblenz is an English-taught, research-oriented graduate programme spanning four semesters. It emphasizes the design, structure, and functional properties of materials in physics and chemistry rather than industrial applications alone. Students complete core modules in fundamentals such as ceramic materials, sustainable functional materials, and polymer science, alongside elective and interdisciplinary coursework. The curriculum prepares graduates for advanced academic research, doctoral studies, or specialized careers in materials engineering and regional industries.
