MSCA Doctoral Network PhD Position in Mass Spectrometry-Based Proteomics of β-Catenin and Peptide Binders
Explore protein post-translational modifications (PTMs) in β-catenin interactome using advanced mass spectrometry techniques.
Best for:Best for early-stage researchers with a strong background in biochemistry, proteomics, or mass spectrometry, eager to contribute to fundamental discoveries in protein regulation and post-translational modifications.
Overview
This MSCA-funded PhD position at the University of Milan focuses on developing and benchmarking quantitative mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomic strategies to analyze unmodified and modified β-catenin and its peptide binders. The project aims to elucidate the role of protein post-translational modifications (PTMs) in the intrinsically disordered region (IDR)-mediated β-catenin interactome. The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge proteomic research, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to advancing our understanding of protein regulation mechanisms. The position is part of the Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Network and offers a fully funded PhD opportunity with international mobility.
What you'll do
- Develop and benchmark quantitative mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomic strategies to analyze unmodified and modified β-catenin and its peptide binders.
- Conduct experiments to decipher the role of protein post-translational modifications (PTMs) in the IDR-mediated β-catenin interactome.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams to integrate proteomic data with other experimental approaches.
- Publish findings in high-impact scientific journals and present results at international conferences.
- Contribute to the training and mentorship of junior researchers within the MSCA Doctoral Network.
- Participate in international mobility activities as part of the MSCA programme.
