Overview
The Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics (JSBE) is offering 5 to 8 fixed-term doctoral researcher positions starting in January 2027. Selected candidates will pursue doctoral studies and research across major disciplines including marketing, accounting, management, and economics. The role combines independent dissertation research, doctoral coursework, and assisting with teaching activities. Successful applicants receive a salaried appointment for up to three years within a supportive international academic community.
What you'll do
- Conduct independent academic research aimed at completing a doctoral dissertation.
- Complete required doctoral coursework and credits within the JSBE doctoral programmes.
- Participate in teaching assistance and other related academic duties.
- Present research findings at academic conferences and seminars.
- Collaborate with faculty members and contribute to the research environment of the school.
Requirements
Degree required: Master's degree in a relevant business, economics, or related discipline
Degree offered: PhD
Language: Good command of English

- Ability to formulate a feasible and high-quality research plan with a realistic timeline
- Proficiency in aligning proposed research with existing disciplines at JSBE
- Strong motivation to complete doctoral studies within a three-year timeframe
- Must hold or be about to obtain a suitable Master's degree before appointment
- Must be eligible to obtain formal postgraduate study rights at the University of Jyväskylä
