Research Fellow in Time-Resolved Photoelectron Spectroscopy
Develop cutting-edge time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy capabilities within the School of Chemistry.
Best for:Best for postdoctoral researchers in physical chemistry or chemical physics with expertise in ultrafast laser technology and spectroscopy.
Overview
The University of Southampton is seeking a Research Fellow to drive the development of time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy capabilities. Working within the School of Chemistry, the successful candidate will conduct experiments using UV, IR, and XUV probes in collaboration with facilities such as Artemis and ELI-Beamlines, while coordinating data analysis alongside theoretical partners. This fixed-term appointment offers an opportunity to contribute to advanced chemical dynamics research in a supportive academic environment. Applicants are expected to manage experimental execution, collaborate closely with international teams, and interpret complex spectroscopic data.
What you'll do
- Lead advanced time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy experiments as part of a collaborative research team.
- Utilize UV and IR probes to investigate chemical dynamics within the Southampton laboratories.
- Conduct experiments using XUV probes via external collaborations with the Artemis Facility and ELI-Beamlines.
- Coordinate comprehensive data analysis from spectroscopic measurements.
- Partner with theoretical collaborators to interpret experimental results effectively.
