Overview

This PhD position offers a unique opportunity to investigate how non-coding RNA modifications influence ageing at the intersection of genetics and molecular biology. The project, conducted in collaboration between Dr. Alper Akay’s lab at the University of East Anglia (UK) and Dr. Magdalena Koziol’s lab at the Chinese Institute for Brain Research, will leverage Oxford Nanopore direct RNA sequencing to map RNA modifications in animal models. The successful candidate will contribute to uncovering fundamental insights into the molecular mechanisms of ageing, with full support for applying competitive scholarships to cover tuition and living expenses. The project is based at the vibrant Norwich Research Park, providing access to world-class research infrastructure and interdisciplinary training.
