PhD Position: Curiosity in the Classroom
Investigate how curiosity shapes learning in primary school children using experimental and computational methods.
Best for:Best for master's graduates in psychology, cognitive science, or educational sciences with an interest in computational modelling and real-world educational research.
Overview
Radboud University invites applications for a PhD position focused on understanding how curiosity unfolds in authentic classroom settings among children aged 10 to 12. The project combines experimental research, classroom studies, and computational modelling to examine what drives information-seeking behaviour and how learning environments influence it. The successful candidate will design and conduct studies in collaboration with primary schools, analyse behavioural data, and translate fundamental research insights into educational practice. Expected duties also involve recruiting participants, contributing to teaching for approximately 10% of the time, and preparing scientific articles for a doctoral dissertation.
What you'll do
- Design and conduct experimental studies and classroom research involving children aged 10 to 12 in real-world school settings
