Overview

This Master of Arts programme at the University of Bonn, in collaboration with Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), offers a unique double-degree opportunity. Students specialise in modern and classical Chinese linguistics, translation studies, and cultural analysis, with a focus on Chinese-German translation. The curriculum includes theoretical training, practical translation exercises, and immersive language practice. A highlight is the mandatory one-year exchange at BFSU during the second and third semesters, where students refine their language skills and cultural understanding in Beijing. Graduates earn two Master’s degrees and gain professional experience through internships at institutions like the Goethe Institute and the United Nations.
