Overview

This 4-year PhD studentship at the University of East Anglia's Norwich Medical School explores how mutant blood stem cells outgrow normal counterparts and actively alter the bone marrow niche. The successful candidate will investigate cellular, genetic, and metabolic mechanisms underlying accelerated blood cell ageing. Working within the Mistry and Rushworth Lab alongside the Earlham Institute, the student will employ advanced techniques including flow cytometry, in-vivo modelling, and RNA-sequencing. Candidates will benefit from a comprehensive training environment featuring specialist workshops, journal clubs, and presentation opportunities across the Norwich Research Park.
