Overview

The Institute of Materials and Devices (IMD-2) at Forschungszentrum Jülich is seeking a PhD candidate to join a collaborative project focused on high-performance battery systems. The research involves utilizing the world’s first 3D lithium tomography facility at the 3 MeV Tandetron ion accelerator to analyze next-generation battery anodes. The successful applicant will optimize measurement processes, perform 3D reconstructions using AI-based software, and evaluate the impact of process parameters on lithium distribution. This position offers the opportunity to bridge the gap between fundamental materials science and industrial application within a large, international research consortium.
