Overview

The University of Exeter invites applications for a four-year PhD studentship through the GW4 BioMed3 MRC Doctoral Landscape Programme, starting in October 2027. The research focuses on analyzing clinical and population cohorts to understand the prevalence and penetrance of genetic variants associated with monogenic epilepsy and neurodevelopmental disorders. The successful candidate will generate evidence to guide the selection of genes and variants for newborn genome screening programmes. The position provides comprehensive funding for tuition fees, a living stipend, and additional research training support.
