Overview

This PhD project aims to investigate the friction mechanisms on ice and snow, addressing practical questions from winter sports athletes. It combines the development of embedded sensors, field measurement campaigns, controlled laboratory experiments, and theoretical modeling of cold interface physics. The research is crucial for improving performance in various winter sports and developing environmentally friendly alternatives to harmful fluorinated products. The candidate will work closely with researchers and sports federations, contributing to both scientific understanding and practical applications.
