Overview

Université Grenoble Alpes invites applications for a PhD position focused on the spatio-temporal structure of atmospheric precipitation. The project aims to resolve long-standing scientific debates regarding the theoretical modeling of hydrometeor distribution. The successful candidate will utilize a novel sensor capable of measuring size, shape, and velocity components within a 100-liter atmospheric volume. This research combines experimental data collection with statistical and physical modeling to better understand precipitation dynamics. The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to contribute to both fundamental science and practical applications in hydro-meteorological risk assessment.
