PhD Position: Reconstructing Nanophotonic Scattering Geometries from Radiation Patterns
Develop physics-informed algorithms and Fourier microscopy experiments to reconstruct nanoscale scattering geometries.
Best for:Best for candidates with a strong background in physics, optics, or photonics who are interested in computational imaging and industry-relevant research.
Overview
AMOLF is seeking a motivated PhD candidate to join the Resonant Nanophotonics group as part of the CHAIN consortium. The project focuses on advancing lensless and computational imaging by developing physics-based algorithms to reconstruct nanoscale scattering geometries from diffraction data. You will work at the intersection of experimental Fourier microscopy and computational modeling, utilizing eigenmode structures to analyze geometry differences. This role involves close collaboration with academic and industry partners to address challenges in semiconductor metrology and nanophotonic design.
What you'll do
- Conduct experimental research using Fourier microscopy to measure radiation patterns.
- Develop and implement physics-informed algorithms for reconstructing nanoscale geometries.
- Collaborate with consortium partners, including JCMwave, on eigenmode-based reconstruction techniques.
- Engage in regular work discussions with academic and industry partners within the CHAIN consortium.
- Contribute to the development of new functional materials and nanophotonic structures.
- Participate in PhD-level courses and professional development activities.
