PhD Researcher in AI-Based Personalised Fracture Risk Prediction
Develop AI models to predict personalised fracture risk from medical images for clinical use.
Best for:Best for AI/ML researchers with expertise in deep learning, medical image processing, and Python, seeking to contribute to translational healthcare solutions.
Overview
This PhD position at the Singapore-ETH Centre focuses on advancing AI-driven medical imaging to predict personalised fracture risk trajectories. The successful candidate will develop deep-learning models that integrate bone-density and CT scans with biomechanical data to forecast individual fracture risks over time. The project aims to replace computationally expensive simulations with scalable, data-driven solutions. The researcher will collaborate within the Future Health Technologies 2 (FHT2) programme, validating models against biomechanical simulations and real-world outcomes while co-supervising undergraduate students. The position is based in Singapore and offers a multidisciplinary environment with industry and government partnerships.
What you'll do
- Develop AI/deep-learning models to predict personalised fracture risk from bone-density and CT images.
- Extend image-based models to longitudinal data for forecasting bone-ageing trajectories and future fracture risk.
- Validate model predictions against biomechanical simulations and real-world fracture outcomes across cohorts.
- Collaborate with MSc and BSc students as co-supervisor for research projects.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to translate research into practical clinical solutions.
