Postdoctoral Fellow in AI/ML for Spatial Genomics and Liver Disease
Develop cutting-edge AI/ML methods to analyze spatial genomics and study clone-microenvironment interactions in liver disease and cancer.
Best for:Best for postdoctoral researchers with a PhD in computational biology, machine learning, computer science, or related quantitative fields, and expertise in deep learning, Python, and biological data analysis.
Overview
This postdoctoral position at The Francis Crick Institute in London focuses on advancing AI/ML techniques to investigate how driver mutation clones interact with their microenvironment in chronic liver disease and liver cancer. The role involves close collaboration with the Lotfollahi Lab at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, specializing in generative AI and foundation models for spatial and single-cell genomics. The successful candidate will design and apply state-of-the-art machine learning approaches to large-scale spatial genomics and multi-modal biological datasets, integrating spatial transcriptomics, single-cell sequencing, and imaging data. The position emphasizes interdisciplinary teamwork, publication leadership, and dissemination of research findings across both institutions.
What you'll do
- Develop advanced AI/ML methods for analyzing spatial genomics and histology datasets, including graph neural networks and transformer models.
- Apply machine learning techniques to study interactions between driver mutation clones and their microenvironment in liver disease and cancer.
- Integrate spatial transcriptomics, single-cell sequencing, and imaging datasets to derive meaningful biological insights.
- Design benchmarking strategies and reproducible computational workflows for genomic data analysis.
- Perform clonal reconstruction and spatial mapping analyses from genomic datasets.
- Collaborate with computational scientists, clinicians, and experimental researchers across The Francis Crick Institute and Wellcome Sanger Institute.
- Lead publications, conference presentations, and dissemination of research findings.
