Overview
The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in Cloud Computing and Data Analytics. The successful candidate will contribute to both graduate and undergraduate programs, delivering courses on topics such as distributed systems and databases. Beyond teaching, the role involves active participation in research, specifically in cloud data analytics, edge computing, and scalable storage solutions. Faculty members are also expected to engage in administrative duties and contribute to the academic development of the Faculty of Engineering. This position offers an opportunity to work within an international, research-oriented environment supported by German academic standards.
What you'll do
- Deliver 240 academic hours of teaching per year across graduate and undergraduate programs.
- Teach modules including Databases, Computer Networks, and Distributed Systems.
- Supervise bachelor and master theses and mentor PhD students.
- Conduct high-quality basic and applied research in cloud data analytics and edge computing.
- Pursue and manage externally funded research projects.
- Participate in administrative and marketing activities for the Computer Science program.
- Contribute to the academic self-administration of the Faculty of Engineering and the university.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field
Language: English; IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 84 (iBT), or equivalent.
Instruction: English
Publications: Strong track record of publications in international, peer-reviewed journals.

- Proven expertise in cloud-based platforms and data analytics tools.
- Strong track record of peer-reviewed international publications.
- Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level.
- Excellent English proficiency.
- Must hold a PhD in Computer Science or related field.
