Overview
This doctoral position is part of the FAroGels research program hosted at the University of Udine within the Department of Agriculture, Food, Environmental and Animal Science. The successful candidate will investigate food-grade, bio-based, and biodegradable aerogels and their applications in sensory control and healthier diets. The role involves conducting advanced experimental research, collaborating with international project partners, and contributing to scientific publications. Applicants are expected to hold a relevant master's degree and demonstrate a strong background in agricultural sciences or food technology.
What you'll do
- Conduct experimental research on food-grade, bio-based, and biodegradable aerogels for sustainable food applications
- Investigate the role of porous food ingredients in sensory control and healthier diets
- Analyze physical, chemical, and structural properties of developed aerogel formulations
- Collaborate with consortium partners within the FAroGels research framework
- Prepare scientific reports, deliver presentations at conferences, and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals
- Participate in doctoral training activities and workshops organized by the network
Requirements
Degree required: Master Degree or equivalent
Degree offered: PhD
Language: English; Excellent proficiency required
Instruction: English
- Strong background in agricultural sciences, food science, or related disciplines
- Experience with laboratory research methodologies and data analysis
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international research environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Must meet First Stage Researcher (R1) criteria as defined by Euraxess
- Must hold a Master Degree or equivalent qualification by the start of the contract
