Overview
The Aboudehen Laboratory at Stony Brook University is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to conduct NIH-funded research within the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. The successful candidate will investigate the role of RNA biology in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD), focusing on long noncoding RNAs and RNA-binding proteins. The position involves utilizing mouse models, human kidney epithelial cells, and advanced RNA-targeting technologies to identify potential therapeutic targets. Applicants are expected to contribute to experimental design, data analysis, and the preparation of scientific manuscripts and grant materials.
What you'll do
- Design and execute molecular, cellular, and animal experiments related to ADPKD pathogenesis.
- Analyze, interpret, and document experimental data using specialized RNA and molecular biology techniques.
- Maintain mouse colonies and manage laboratory materials and equipment.
- Prepare research reports, scientific presentations, and manuscripts for publication.
- Assist with grant-related materials and attend relevant scientific seminars and conferences.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in RNA biology, molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, or a closely related field.

- Ability to maintain accurate laboratory and animal colony records.
