Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is inviting experienced finance professionals and academics to join the Department of Finance at International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) as practice-track faculty at the rank of Associate Professor or above. The successful candidate will teach, conduct applied research, and build industry connections, with a strategic focus on financing, investment, and innovation within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare sectors. The appointment is offered on a renewable fixed-term basis within a dynamic and internationally accredited business school located in Suzhou, China. Candidates are expected to contribute to curriculum development, high-impact business engagement, and the school's growing international profile.
What you'll do
- Deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate finance programmes, including specialized courses related to finance and industry practices.
- Pursue impactful applied research and publish in internationally recognized journals indexed in ABS and ABDC lists.
- Build collaborative partnerships and engagement networks with businesses in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare sectors.
- Contribute to curriculum design, programme development, and the enhancement of executive education initiatives.
- Provide professional consultancy, industry reports, or policy advisory inputs for external organizations and businesses.
Requirements
Degree required: Higher degree (Master's and above) in finance or a related field
Language: English
Instruction: English
Publications: Evidence of research performance benchmarked against international journal quality guides such as ABS and ABDC lists
- Minimum of seven years of experience in senior management positions within finance practices related to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare sectors
- Demonstrated track record of active business engagement, professional visibility, and industry networking
- Ability to conduct and publish research in internationally recognized business and finance journals
- Must comply with Chinese labour laws and provincial government regulations for work permits and visas
- Candidates over 65 years of age may not be eligible for a work visa in P.R. China
