PhD Position in Computational Analysis of Multi-Omics Data for Radiation Therapy
Develop computational pipelines to integrate multi-omics datasets and identify biomarkers for radiotherapy response in glioblastoma.
Best for:Best for computational biologists, bioinformaticians, or data scientists with experience in multi-omics data integration and biomarker discovery, seeking interdisciplinary research in cancer therapy.
Overview
This PhD position is part of the MSCA Doctoral Network ‘Innovative Radiation Therapy for Brain Tumours (InnovaRTBRAIN)’, focusing on advancing radiotherapy strategies for glioblastoma (GBM). The successful candidate will work at the University of Florence’s Chemistry Department, developing computational tools to analyze multi-omics data and uncover biomarkers predictive of radiotherapy outcomes. The project combines interdisciplinary expertise in chemistry, physics, biology, and clinical translation, with opportunities for international collaborations and industrial secondments. Candidates will contribute to cutting-edge research with direct clinical applications, publishing findings in high-impact journals and presenting at conferences.
What you'll do
- Develop computational pipelines to integrate multi-omics datasets (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics) for radiotherapy response prediction in glioblastoma.
- Identify and validate biomarkers associated with radioresistance, infiltration, and immunosuppression in brain tumors.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including chemists, physicists, biologists, and clinicians to translate research into clinical applications.
- Participate in international secondments at academic and industrial partners to broaden research exposure.
- Contribute to high-impact publications and present findings at international conferences.
- Engage in multidisciplinary training programs within the MSCA Doctoral Network framework.
