Overview

The International Max Planck Research School for Physics and Medicine (IMPRS-PM) is a collaborative graduate programme established in 2022 by the Max-Planck-Zentrum für Physik und Medizin, the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), and the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light. The programme aims to train scientists to apply physical principles to biological and medical research, bridging the gap between fundamental physics and clinical application. Students participate in a structured curriculum that includes interdisciplinary coursework, research projects, and mandatory internships with principal investigators. The programme is conducted entirely in English and offers a pathway for students to pursue both Master's and PhD-level research.
