PhD Position in Bacterial Microbiology (Iron-Sulfur Cluster Biogenesis)
Explore bacterial stress responses and nutrient scarcity mechanisms in *Escherichia coli* at CNRS Marseille.
Best for:Best for microbiology graduates with strong molecular biology skills and an interest in bacterial stress responses and genomics.
Overview
This PhD position at the **Laboratoire de Chimie Bactérienne** (CNRS, Marseille) focuses on the regulation of iron-sulfur cluster biogenesis in *Escherichia coli* under stress and nutrient deprivation. The project, funded by ANR, integrates transcriptomic, proteomic, and adaptive biology approaches. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and leverage cutting-edge platforms. The role offers a stimulating research environment and a structured doctoral contract with competitive remuneration and benefits, including transport support and 44 days of annual leave.
What you'll do
- Investigate the regulatory mechanisms governing iron-sulfur cluster biogenesis in *E. coli* under stress and nutrient-limiting conditions.
- Conduct transcriptomic and proteomic analyses to elucidate gene expression and protein regulation patterns.
- Collaborate with laboratory platforms for advanced genomic and proteomic profiling.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences.
- Publish results in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project documentation.
Requirements
