Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's in Membrane Biology to Neuroscience and Experimental Medicine
A multidisciplinary two-year Master's programme focused on biomembrane research across three European universities.
Best for:Best for students with a background in Life Sciences seeking an international, research-intensive Master's degree.
Overview
The MemBioMed Master's programme is a fully integrated, two-year international degree focused on the multidisciplinary study of biomembranes. This collaborative programme involves Osnabrück University, Université Côte d'Azur, and the University of Genoa, providing students with a comprehensive education in membrane biology, neurophysiology, and cellular nanoanalytics. Students rotate through these partner institutions to gain theoretical knowledge and practical research experience, culminating in a Master's thesis project. The curriculum is designed to prepare graduates for careers in both academic research and the private sector, including fields like nanomedicine and drug development.
What you'll do
- Complete the first semester at Université Côte d'Azur focusing on the structure and function of biological membranes.
- Attend the second semester at the University of Genoa to study biomembrane-related pathologies and neurological functions.
- Undertake methodological specialisation in cellular nanoanalytics during the third semester at Osnabrück University.
- Conduct a Master's thesis project in the fourth semester at a partner institution or associated industrial partner.
- Participate in integrated lab rotations, orientation events, and summer schools to develop practical and interdisciplinary skills.
