Postdoctoral Fellow in Hematology and Cancer Genomics
Join an interdisciplinary lab at CU Anschutz to investigate RNA processing and cellular heterogeneity in myeloid malignancies.
Best for:Best for researchers with a PhD in molecular biology or genomics and strong experience in single-cell sequencing and computational analysis.
Overview
The Gillen Lab at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join their research team. The position focuses on understanding how post-transcriptional regulation and RNA processing influence cancer cell states in myeloid malignancies like acute myeloid leukemia. The successful candidate will integrate wet-lab experimentation with computational analysis to study patient-derived samples and cell line models. This role offers comprehensive training across the full research pipeline, including experimental design, high-throughput profiling, and manuscript preparation.
What you'll do
- Design and execute single-cell genomic experiments on patient-derived and model samples.
- Perform bioinformatic analysis of genomic datasets using R or Python.
- Develop and maintain reproducible software tools for computational analysis.
- Apply flow cytometry and molecular biology assays to validate experimental findings.
- Collaborate with clinical and computational colleagues on interdisciplinary projects.
- Prepare research findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Draft grant proposals to secure independent research funding.
- Participate in lab meetings, journal clubs, and scientific conferences.
