Overview

This three-year PhD position at the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) in Badalona, Spain, focuses on advancing tissue-engineered vascular grafts for coronary and peripheral arterial revascularization. The project, led by Dr. Carolina Gálvez Montón, combines decellularization and re-endothelialization techniques to create small-calibre human vascular grafts. The successful candidate will conduct research within the Heart Failure and Cardiac Regeneration Research Group (ICREC), collaborating with the Banc de Sang i Teixits and the hospital’s Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Departments. This role is ideal for master’s graduates with a strong background in biomedical engineering, tissue engineering, or related fields, seeking to contribute to translational medical research.
