Overview

The University of Dundee is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join Professor Adrian Saurin's lab in the Department of Genome Integrity. Funded by the BBSRC, the 36-month project focuses on designing and validating chemical-genetic tools to probe cyclin-substrate interactions and cell cycle regulation. The successful candidate will apply advanced cell biology and proteomics methods to uncover the functional consequences of inhibiting specific cyclin/CDK subcomplexes. The appointee will work collaboratively within an established research group and contribute to the vibrant research culture of the university.

What you'll do

  • Generate and validate novel chemical-genetic approaches to inhibit diverse cyclin-substrate interactions
  • Employ state-of-the-art phospho-proteomics techniques to discover binding partners and substrates of specific cyclin/CDK complexes
  • Utilize extensive cell biology methods, including live-cell microscopy, to analyze phenotypes resulting from the inhibition of target subcomplexes
  • Connect observed cellular phenotypes directly to specific molecular cyclin-substrate interactions
  • Contribute to research dissemination and participate in the professional development and culture activities of the department
